Trump hoping to bounce back
Share:

England’s Judd Trump will be looking to make an immediate response after being dumped out of the World Open when he tries to qualify for the China Championship on Monday.

The 29-year-old has had a poor start to the season after failing to progress past the second round of the World Open.

He qualified with ease before losing to Gary Wilson earlier this month. He will now get the chance to make amends when he takes on Scotland’s Eden Sharav and he remains the heavy favourite. Trump is as short as 3.30 to win the contest 5-0 with Dafabet.

His countryman Kyren Wilson is also back in action and he will face Germany’s Lukas Kleckers. Wilson is 4.20 to win 5-2, with Kleckers the 6.50 outsider.

Thepchaiya Un-Nooh is also back on the scene and he will do battle with Scotland’s Rhys Clark. Fellow Scot Scott Donaldson is also set to play on Monday and he will face off against Basem Eltahhan.

Mark Selby will take on crowd favourite Jimmy White, with the latter a 7.50 outsider this week.

White has lost four of his last five matches and failed to advance in the World Open, Riga Masters, Indian Open and European Masters. The final three games of the day could prove to be much closer affairs.

Fergal O’Brien meets Peter Lines and he is 1.50 to win, while Lines is 2.38. Andrew Higginson will meet Zhang Anda and Yan Bingtao will take on Niu Zhuang.
