England’s Mark Selby remains on course to defend his International Championship crown this week but faces a tricky encounter with Robert Milkins on Tuesday afternoon.
Selby was in fine form on Monday as he smashed his way past Ireland’s Ken Doherty, coming out on top 6-0 and catching the eye after firing breaks of 100, 55, 124, 117 and 52.
The 35-year-old is as short as 1.25 to win his match with Milkins, while the latter is a 3.80 outsider.
With world number one Mark Williams having been dumped out of the competition, Selby now has a great chance to close the gap between the pair at the top of the standings in China.
Meanwhile, a close contest is expected between Ian Burns and Stuart Carrington with the English duo hard to split on paper.
Carrington is 1.50 to win, while Burns is 2.50 but there is every chance it could go down to the wire between the pair.
Burns warmed up for the contest by beating Li Hang but he has struggled for consistency this season.
Australia’s Neil Robertson is expected to be pushed all the way by England’s Joe Perry when they meet on Tuesday.
Robertson has shown glimpses of his top form in recent weeks and his 6-1 first-round win over Matthew Selt will give him plenty of confidence.
Xiao Guodong is also in action and the Chinese star will come up against fellow countryman Yuan Sijun.
The former is 1.61 favourite and he is also available at odds of 6.50 to win the match 6-3.
