The likes of John Higgins, Mark Allen, Stuart Bingham and Shaun Murphy are all expected to breeze through qualifying at the International Championships at the Barnsley Metrodome on Friday.
The big boys will not enter the frame until the afternoon session and Higgins is first up as the Scot prepares to take on Peter Lines. Higgins is as short as 1.07 with Dafabet but a 6-2 victory is available at odds of 6-2.
World No.11 Allen is also back on the table just a week after he featured in the European Masters. The Northern Irishman reached the quarter-finals before losing to Jimmy Robertson, who eventually went on to win the title. He is expected to cruise home when he meets Paul Davison in South Yorkshire.
Fans’ favourite Murphy is also in contention and he will try to build on some near misses so far this season. The world No.7 reached the third round of the China Championship in September, while he also reached the second round of the Riga Masters.
Murphy is currently struggling with consistency but he should have no problem getting past Sam Baird on Friday. Baird is the 5.00 outsider and Murphy is 5.25 to record a 6-3 victory.
The 2015 world champion, Bingham, will do battle with Chen Feilong and he will try to replicate the form that saw him reach the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters in September. A 6-1 win for Bingham is priced at 3.80 with Dafabet, while a shock win for Feilong is as high as 8.00.
Scotland’s Scott Donaldson is also in action against John Astley, while Cyrpus’ Michael Georgiou meets Billy Joe Castle of England.
