Ronnie O'Sullivan hits milestone on way to final
Share:

Ronnie O’Sullivan’s 900th century break was the highlight of his 6-2 victory over Anthony Hamilton as he booked his place into Sunday’s final of the Champion of Champions. The 41-year-old world number seven started poorly in his semi-final clash at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena as Hamilton took the opening two frames.

But O’Sullivan responded impressively with breaks of 124, 74 and his milestone 109 to move into a 3-2 lead. And despite Hamilton threatening to get back into the contest in the seventh game, the world number 26 missed a straightforward red and was made to pay when O’Sullivan wrapped up the frame. He completed the win with a break of 78 in the eighth and will now face the winner of Saturday night’s last-four showdown between Shaun Murphy and Luca Brecel.

O’Sullivan, who is now favourite at 4/11 to pick up the £100,000 winner’s cheque on Sunday, told ITV 4: “I’m really pleased to get through. I know how good he can be. If I miss I know he can clean up. “At 2-0 down I was just thinking, ‘life’s good, you’ve got plenty going on…’ but that made me relax and it came good.”
