Neil Robertson lost the International Championship final last season to Mark Allen and will be looking to go one better and claim the trophy for the first time this year.
The Australian takes on Shaun Murphy in the third round on Wednesday and is 1.40 to win, with Murphy rated at 2.88.
Robertson, who has twice finished as the runner-up in the International Championship, will be looking to make his mark in Daqing after the start to his season was delayed.
The 37-year-old was unable to defend his Riga Masters title as he was one of a number of players who missed out due to flight cancellations.
The disappointment of not being involved in Latvia doesn’t seem to have had any real impact on the Thunder from Down Under’s form as he thrashed Nigel Bond 6-2 in his International Championship opener before coming through a tough test against Ricky Walden in a deciding frame.
Robertson claimed a comfortable win over Murphy in the World Championship at the end of last season, coming through 13-6, and has dominated their meetings in recent years with four wins to Murphy’s one over the course of their last five contests. Robertson is 6.00 to win 6-3 and 6.50 to win 6-4.
