World number 36 Jimmy Robertson has a chance to claim his first ranking title at the European Masters but first has to see off Mark King in the semi-finals.
King is the highest ranked player left in the tournament with Robertson the lowest and the event in Belgium looks wide open. Robertson can be backed at 4.50 to win the European Masters outright, King is 3.75.
Robertson, 32, is the only player left in the draw without a ranking title victory and his semi-final place in Lommel is already a career-best display, as his previous best was a quarter-final place in last year’s German Masters.
‘JR’ and King have both grabbed some impressive victories on their way to the last four, with Robertson taking down Mark Allen and King seeing off Stuart Bingham and Ricky Walden.
The two players have come up against each other before but have only met once in a traditional match, on the Asian Tour three years ago as Robertson claimed a 4-2 win. King has two wins to his name over Robertson in the Snooker Shoot-Out event.
Robertson is 2.20 to claim the victory and 8.50 to win 6-3. King is 1.61 to win and 10.00 to win 6-1.
