Tournament Favourite Judd Trump threw away a 4-0 lead to end the first session 5-4 down and in the process leave himself with more questions than answers in a very strange first session…

Trump began well making breaks of 54 and 55 to lead 4-0 but McLeod hit back winning the next 5 frames in a row aided by breaks of 72 and 77 to lead 5-4 leaving Trump with plenty to do if he wishes to lift his first world title this year!

The Dragon’s roar too much for Zhou…

The man known as “The Dragon” Ding Junhui powered past his fellow countrymen Zhou Yuelong 10-5 in an extremely dominant display.

Trailing 7-2 overnight Zhou made the perfect start to the second session by Winning the first two frames of the morning with breaks of 60 and 93 to cut the deficit to 7-4 but his fight back was to be in vain as Ding won 3 of the next 4 frames with breaks of 67 and 68 to wrap up a 10-6 victory…

Wenbo just edges Carrington

Liang Wenbo came through a tough battle with a 10-7 win over Grimsby’s Stuart Carrington..

Wenbo raced into a 2-0 lead only for Carrington to hit back hard Winning the next 5 frames in a row making 3 centuries in a succession to leave Wenbo stunned in his chair and 5-2 down. Wenbo won the next two frames to end the session at 5-4 down.

Wenbo started the second session well by winning 3 of the first four frames to lead the match 7-6, Carrington took frame 14 with a great 49 clearance to level the match at 7-7 but Wenbo reeled off the next 3 frames to seal a 10-7 victory…

Higgins too hot for Gould…

Four times world champion John Higgins knocked in 10 breaks over 50 including a stunning break of 127 to wrap up a 10-6 victory over Martin Gould and will now face Mark Allen in a mouthwatering last 16 clash.
