Fans’ favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan will return to action on Monday as he prepares to take on Kurt Maflin in the first round of the English Open. The 42-year-old will be back in action for the first time since winning the Shanghai Masters in September.

O’Sullivan beat Neil Robertson, Stuart Bingham, Kyren Wilson and Barry Hawkins on his way to victory and he is now 3.25 to win 4-0 against Maflin.

A close contest is expected between England’s Adam Duffy and China’s Luo Honghao, with the latter 1.57 favourite. Duffy is priced as an 2.38 outsider, while Fan Zhengyi is also expected to struggle during his contest against Scotland’s Alan McManus. The Chinese star is 4.00 to pull off an upset and Michael Judge will be hoping to do the same at the same odds in his match against Zhao Xintong.

Matthew Stevens is also in action against China’s Chen Zifan, while Martin O’Donnell will take on Stuart Carrington. Li Hang and Ian Burns will meet late in the afternoon session, with the former 1.50 and Burns 2.50 to win. Andy Lee and Yan Bingtao are also set to meet and Lee is the 9.00 outsider with Dafabet.

World champion Mark Williams is back in action in the second afternoon session and he will take on fellow Welshman Dominic Dale. Williams is the 1.25 favourite, with Dale 3.80 to pull off a shock victory.

Former world champion Peter Ebdon will also return and he is 1.57 to overcome Alfie Burden.
