Shaun Murphy really struggled for form earlier this season but appears to be getting back on track after an appearance in the Scottish Open final.
The ‘Magician’ found Mark Allen too strong in the final in Glasgow as he slipped to a 9-7 defeat but his run in Scotland should have provided him with a much-needed confidence boost.
The world number 11 had failed to progress beyond the third round in six ranking events prior to the Scottish Open, going out in the first round in three, and now comes up against veteran Jimmy White on Thursday as he bids to qualify for the German Masters.
Murphy has won the last three meetings between the two and is 1.08 to secure the win in Germany or 3.50 to win 5-1, while White is available at 7.00.
Elsewhere, world champion Mark Williams faces fellow Welshman Jak Jones and he will be looking to find some form himself ahead of The Dafabet Masters.
Williams is a two-time Masters champion but his last success came 16 years ago and after ending his long-wait for another major in Sheffield last season he will be keen to grab another Triple Crown title.
Williams is 13.00 to win the Dafabet Masters 2019 outright and Murphy is 26.00.
The 43-year-old won the World Open at the start of the season but has only reached the fourth round of a ranking event once since – at the UK Championship.
