Jack Lisowski will go into Saturday’s International Championship semi-final showdown against Neil Robertson in Daqing looking to help progress towards his target of becoming a top-16 player.
The 27-year-old Englishman sealed his third appearance in the last-four of a ranking event courtesy of an impressive 6-2 quarter-final win against his friend Judd Trump.
Lisowski has already featured in a semi-final in 2018 when going on to finish runner-up at the Riga Masters when he lost 5-2 to Robertson in Latvia.
He currently sits in 21st place in the rankings with his best standing so far being 17 so Lisowski is desperate to push on into the top-16 to secure a Masters debut and he can boost his cause by avenging his Riga Masters loss with victory against Robertson this weekend.
Looking ahead, Lisowski told World Snooker: “I definitely want to be a top 16 player. If that happens it happens. I’m just working as hard as I can and trying my best in every tournament. If I can keep it up then in a few months, who knows.
“I’m starting to find some consistency, I’m not sure where from but I’m riding a wave and I want to keep it up as long as I can.
“When I win I get a lot of adrenaline. It is hard to sleep and hard to calm down. That is something I’ve been getting used to. Like I say, this is new to me so this is all a learning curve.”
Lisowski is 2.30 to win Saturday’s semi-final, while Robertson is priced at 1.61 with the victor going on to face either mark Allen or Matthew Stevens in the final.
