Judd Trump has admitted he was pleased to get over the line after battling out a 5-3 victory over Ding Junhui to reach the German Masters semi-finals. The Englishman managed to produce breaks of 140, 51, 64, 57 and 57 on his way to victory but the 28-year-old did not have it all his own way in Berlin. Leading 4-1 at one stage in the contest it looked like Trump would cruise his way into the last four but Ding had different ideas.
The Chinese star managed to pull the match back to 4-3 with some fine snooker but that was before Trump eventually got over the line. Having been pushed hard for the quarter-final victory, Trump has admitted he was pleased to secure the win and knows he will have to tidy up his game if he is to go all the way in the German Masters this week. “I was ahead and cruising,” said Trump. “I went in off after going into the pack in the fifth frame and then I thought it was going to be the same as the Masters.
The balls went scrappy, I lost the next two frames and I was under it. I was so pleased to get through in the end.” Trump will next face Mark Williams in the last four in Berlin after the Welshman managed to secure a 5-3 victory of his own against Englishman Jimmy Robertson.
