England’s Barry Hawkins will be looking to continue his incredible Crucible form when he takes on countryman Kyren Wilson on Sunday.
The 40-year-old is the outsider for the clash due to his performances through this season but his previous experiences at the World Championships should stand him in good stead.
Hawkins finished as runner-up in 2013, losing 18-12 to Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final, and has since reached the semi-finals four times in the last five years.
Hawkins lost in the final of the Shanghai Masters and Championship League – Group 3 this season, and cruised into the second round in Sheffield after beating Li Hang 10-1.
However, he should find things tougher against Wilson, who won the German Masters earlier this year while he also reached the final of the Champion of Champions.
Hawkins is 1.95 to reach the third round, while Wilson remains 1.83 favourite. Allister Carter is also in action as he prepares to face China’s Zhou Yuelong in the second round.
Carter was forced into a gruelling battle against Jack Lisowski but is expected to overcome Zhou at odds of 1.40.
John Higgins and Stuart Bingham will also resume their match on Sunday afternoon, with the score locked at 4-4.
After a tough first-round clash, Bingham’s mental strength could be an issue and he is 2.00 to advance, while Scotland’s Higgins remains the 1.75 favourite.
Judd Trump looks in a good position to advance to the third round after claiming a 5-3 lead against Ding Junhui. He is now 1.25 to win that match and punters can also back him to win the tournament at odds of 3.30.
