England’s Barry Hawkins will be hoping to secure his place in the semi-finals of the Championship League Group 6 when he plays his final three matches on Thursday.
The 39-year-old is in a great position going into the final day, sitting fourth in the table after two wins from his first three matches.
The world No.7 has impressed in recent weeks and he reached the final of Group 5 on Tuesday before being hammered 3-0 by fellow countryman Mark Selby.
The Englishman came into the tournament in great form, reaching the quarter-final of the Dafabet Masters after winning the Macau Masters.
Hawkins reached the final of Group 3 and the semis of Group 4 and he will fancy his chances of progressing this week.
He will start the day by taking on China’s Xiao Guodong in the first session. Under four frames in the match is priced at 3.10, while Hawkins is 2.20 to win on the -1.5 handicap.
Hawkins will then do battle with Mark Davis, who currently sits top of the table after three wins in four matches. Despite his strong form, Davis is the 2.40 outsider to beat Hawkins on Thursday, with the latter 1.53 favourite.
Hawkins will end the day with a match against Martin Gould, with the pair tied on two points in the table. Gould has already beaten Xiao and Allister Carter but he is 2.30 to get the better of Hawkins, who is 5.50 to win the contest 3-1.
