Scotland’s Graeme Dott will be hoping to prove his worth this week as he tries to qualify for the World Championship after a couple of frustrating weeks. The 40-year-old reached the final of the Shoot-Out at the start of February before he then lost to Michael Georgiou of Cyprus.
He then lost in the first round of the World Grand Prix to Joe Perry before coming up against Ronnie O’Sullivan in back-to-back tournaments. Dott lost in the second round at the Welsh Open and the first round at the Players Championship to the in form Englishman. Last week he reached the third round of the China Open but Wednesday’s clash against Adrian Ridley gives him a great chance. Ridley is a 15/1 to win and shock Dott, while Reanne Evans is also considered an outsider against Dominic Dale.
Dale is 1.04 favourite for their match, while Evans can be backed at odds of 9/1. Michael Holt is also in action against Thor Chuan Leong, while Rory McLeod faces a tough test against Ian Burns. McLeod is 1/1 to win, with Burns the slight favourite at odds of 3/4. Anthony Hamilton will do battle against Martin O’Donnell, while Mark Joyce will need to overcome Adam Duffy. Stuart Carrington is also in action on Wednesday and he will take on Nigel Bond. Akani Songsermsawad will do battle with Lukas Kleckers, while Mike Dunn will face Duane Jones.
