Stuart Carrington will have his work cut out when he takes on Eden Sharav in the second round of the Scottish Open on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old scraped past Gary Wilson in the first round this week but Sharav will pose a different threat.
Carrington has struggled for consistency this season so far, but he did show signs of his potential at the International Championship.
He reached the third round before losing to Mark Selby and that form makes him the 1.67 favourite for Wednesday’s battle, while Sharav is 2.15.
Martin O’Donnell is also in action and he remains the short favourite to beat Sam Baird, with fans able to back him at odds of 1.44.
Allister Carter, Ian Burns and Lu Ning are also short-priced favourites ahead of their games against Michael Georgiou, Mike Dunn and Jak Jones.
Defending champion Neil Robertson also returns to the table this afternoon and he is expected to cruise past Ross Muir. Robertson is one of the favourites for the tournament at 11.00 and Muir is as high as 6.00 to pull off a shock win.
Joe Perry and Robbie Williams will meet in the afternoon session, as will Soheil Vahedi and Billy Joe Castle.
Vahedi is a slight outsider at 2.25, while Castle is 1.61 favourite.
Fan favourite John Higgins is back in action and he will be confident of reaching the third round when he takes on Gerard Greene.
Scott Donaldson is straight back to the table after his win on Tuesday and he meets fellow Scot Graeme Dott in a match that will excite the home crowd in Glasgow.
