England’s Stuart Bingham will take on countryman Chris Wakelin in Monday’s first round of the European Masters.
The 42-year-old has failed to fire so far this season after starting his campaign back in July. He failed to qualify for the Riga Masters and World Open but he did make it to the quarter-finals of the 6 Red World Championship in September.
Bingham was eliminated in the last eight by Ronnie O’Sullivan and ‘Rocket’ Ronny also knocked him out of the Shanghai Masters at the same stage. After losing in the second round of the China Championship, Bingham is now back and the 1.50 favourite to beat Wakelin.
The 26-year-old could only reach round one of the China Championship and his lack of experience makes him a 2.50 outsider.
An all-Chinese battle will take place in Lommel, Belgium as Tian Pengfei prepares to face off against Li Hang. A close game is expected with Pengfei 1.95 and Hang 1.80 with Dafabet.
Joe Perry will also play in the afternoon session and he is 1.33 to overcome fellow Englishman Oliver Lines. Home favourite Luca Brecel is also back in action and he will face Wales’ Daniel Wells in the main arena. Brecel is as short as 1.44 to win, while Marco Fu is 1.40 to beat Ireland’s Fergal O’Brien.
The other afternoon games see Michael Georgiou take on Allan Taylor, while Thepchaiya Un-Nooh will face Kyren Wilson. Anthony Hamilton and Zhang Jiankang will be the final contest of the first session with the former 1.25 favourite.
