World number 11 Mark Allen is the highest-ranked player left in the European Masters draw ahead of his quarter-final clash with Jimmy Robertson on Friday.
Allen has won both of his previous meetings with the Englishman, including a 10-8 success in the World Championship in 2017, and is 1.36 to come out on top in Lommel. Allen is 5.50 to win 4-0, while Robertson is 2.88 to seal the win.
The Northern Irishman has enjoyed a fairly comfortable run to the quarter-finals and Robertson will be the first top 50 player he has come up against in Belgium.
The world number 36 beat Anthony McGill 4-3 in his previous match, having beaten Chinese pair Yuelong Zhou and Yong Zhang in the previous rounds. All of Robertson’s matches in the European Masters have gone to deciding frames and he is 6.50 to beat Allen 4-3.
Allen picked up the biggest title of his career last season as he claimed The Masters but his last ranking title came way back in the 2015/16 season, and his best result this year prior to his quarter-final spot in Belgium was a third round appearance at the Riga Masters.
Robertson, 32, is bidding to reach the semi-finals of a ranking event for the first time in his career and he is 23.00 to win the tournament outright. Allen is the 3.40 favourite to win the European Masters and he is 23.00 to successfully defend The Masters later in the season.
