Trump joins UK casualty lists for shake-up

Tags: Judd Trump, UK Championship

Judd Trump is out of the UK Championship, ensuring the top three seeds have all been eliminated before the fourth round. Second seed Ding Junhui went out in the first round, defending champion Mark Selby fell at the second and Trump was undone by Graeme Dott in the third round on Monday.

Dott's style of play does tend to cause Trump problems and the tie was always going to be a potential banana skin for the 2011 champion. The 40-year-old claimed a 6-2 win in an impressive performance and Trump had no complaints after the defeat. He said: "He played really well and he scored heavily. I had my chances, but I didn't really miss too many."

Dott, the 2006 world champion, has never managed to claim the UK Championship and faces a tough draw against fellow Scot Stephen Maguire in the fourth round. Dott is 40/1 to win the UK Championship outright and Barry Hawkins can be backed at 25/1. Trump is 6/1 to put the disappointment of an early exit in York behind him by winning The Masters. Selby is available at 4/1 and Ding is 9/1.
